There are many important figures in the Wizarding World. But here we will focus on the wizard whose story brought us into this magical world, and who will be an important figure in the upcoming Wizards Unite Augmented Reality Game.

If you choose to become an Auror, Harry Potter will be your leader and your guide throughout the game. So lets learn a little more about him.

Todays profile: Harry Potter

Harry Potter in Wizards Unite

If you have been keeping up with our Gameplay posts you will know by now that, once we start the game, we will have to choose between three professions: you can be a Professor, an Auror or a Magizoologist.

Each profession will have a Leader that will be our contact and guide throughout the game. This person will be a well known witch or wizard we will recognise from the books, of course. And in the case of Aurors, this leader will be none other than Harry Potter.

Although gameplay information is still scarce, we know our leader will welcome us into the game. They will give us the information we need to get started, which will probably include some news about the Calamity and perhaps even the London Five.

They will likely also be the ones in charge of explaining how Foundables and Confoundables work and what to do on each of the special locations. Hopefully, they will also explain the intricacies of those skill trees and how the Registry works.

And as the game progresses, they will be our point of contact for news, updates and keep us up to date as the storylines develop.

With all this in mind, it only makes sense to quickly delve a little deeper into this most famous wizards life. Although there is very little we dont know about him by now.

Early life

Born on July 31, 1980 to Lily and James Potter, at the height of the First Wizarding War. Harrys fate had been sealed before his birth.

Sybill Trelawney made a prophecy during a job interview with Albus Dumbledore. The prophecy in question foretold the coming of a boy who would have the power to defeat Lord Voldemort. Severus Snape, a loyal Death Eater at the time, heard and reported the first part of the Prophecy, unaware of whom it referred to.

There were two boys who fit Trelawneys description. Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter. Due to perceived similarities, such as their blood status (the Longbottoms were a pureblood family, while Lily Potter was Muggleborn) Voldemort decided it was Harry that the Prophecy spoke of.

Despite their attempt to go into hiding using a Fidelius Charm, Voldemort managed to find the Potters. Their Secret Keeper, Peter Pettigrew, had betrayed them. On the 31st of October, 1981, Voldemort entered the Potters home at Godrics Hollow and murdered both James and Lily Potter. However, when he attempted to do the same to Harry, the curse rebounded and destroyed Voldemorts body instead. And thus Harry Potter became The Boy Who Lived. A hero to the wizarding world before he could even walk.

Hogwarts years

Harry grew up with his only relatives, the Dursleys. Mistreated and abused, he knew that there was something different about him, but only found out the truth on his 11th birthday, when Rubeus Hagrid tracked him down to give him his Hogwarts acceptance letter.

Despite his familys opposition, Harry attended Hogwarts, where he was sorted into Gryffindor House.

Harry had a difficult time staying out of trouble while at school.Through the years he, along with his friends Ron and Hermione, had several encounters with what remained of Voldemort. First as something barely alive, attached to Professor Quirrells soul. Then he met a young Voldemort, Tom Riddle, through one of his Horcruxes. Along the way he also had to battle some former Death Eaters, Snapes hatred for him, and a good-hearted but meddlesome House Elf.

The second Wizarding War

Once Voldemort regained his body and returned to power, Dumbledore finally told Harry about the Horcruxes. He believed that Voldemort had split his soul to create seven of them. These Horcruxes were beings or objects that would keep that piece of his soul tied to the world of the living in case something happened to him (much as it did upon his first encounter with Harry).

By then Harry had joined the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledores army, actively fighting in the new war against Lord

After Dumbledores death during the Batle of the Astronomy Tower at the hands on Snape, Harry took over the search for the missing Horcruxes. What he didnt know at the time was that he, himself, was a Horcrux.

The Battle of Hogwarts

In 1998, Voldemort and Harry finally faced off. By then, the Death Eaters had complete control over both the Ministry and Hogwarts. Upon hearing of his return to the school, Voldemort decided this would be the perfect opportunity to kill Harry Potter.

Voldemort knew his wand would not work work properly against Harrys (they were Twin Wands, made with the only two feathers Fawkes ever gave) so he decided to find one that would. He chose the Elder Wand, one of the three Deathly Hallows. An undefeatable wand created by Death itself.

But much like when he acted upon the Prophecy without knowing enough, Voldemort was unaware that Harry had become the wands true Master when he defeated Draco Malfoy who had, in turn, taken it from Dumbledore.

When Voldemort offered to spare everyone in the castle if Harry turned himself in, the final battle commenced. Harry went to Voldemort ready to die for his friends. And when Voldemort attacked him two things happened. First, Voldemort destroyed the Horcrux inside Harry. Second, Harrys sacrificed for his friends worked the same way as Lilys had when shed given her life trying to protect Harry. That same ancient magic ensured the safety of everyone in the castle.

With all the Horcruxes destroyed, Harry faced Voldemort one last time. Despite Voldemorts power, viciousness and prowess, the Elder Wand would never let him kill its true Master. So when Voldemort attempted to use the Killing Curse on Harry the Curse rebounded, just like it had seventeen years earlier.

Only this time there was nothing tying Voldemort to the world of the living. No Horcrux left to safeguard a piece of his soul. And so, when the curse hit him, Voldemort was truly destroyed. And so the Second Wizarding War came to an end.

After the War

Harry eventually married Ginny Weasley and officially became a member of the Weasley clan. Together they had three children, Sirius James, Albus Severus and Lily Luna Potter.

While Ginny pursued a career in Quidditch, Kingsley Shacklebolt immediately recruited Harry to become an Auror. Along with Ron, Hemione, and Minister Shacklebolt, Harry drastically changed the way the Ministry worked. In fact, Harry became the Head of the Auror Office in 2007, only nine years after the Battle of Hogwarts.

In the present, Harry is working as a liaison with the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, helping train new recruits in an attempt to stop The Calamity.

And thats a Wrap

So if youre planning to become a Wizards Unite Auror, I cannot think of a better mentor or guide than Harry Potter himself. Wouldnt you agree? Let us know in the comments! And dont forget to follow us on twitter (@AccioWU) to keep up with the latest news
