It’s almost time for the second part of the Christmas Calamity Wizards Unite Event to begin! Just like in Part I, there will be a special object dropping from Magical Buildings and Encounters. However this time, instead of Yule Ball Invitations we will be collecting Baubles. There’s still no word on what we will be using them for, though we are guessing we might need them during the 12 Tasks of Christmas Special Event.

In the meantime, here’s a rundown of the tasks, the rewards and the Foundables we will come across during the Christmas Calamity II Brilliant Event.

The Christmas Calamity II Brilliant Event

Lasting an entire week (from December 17th to December 24th), this will be the second part of the Christmas Calamity Brilliant Event. This event will let us complete the second page of the event Registry, get some of the Fragments from Part I and also get our hands on some more of those precious restricted books that are holding our professional careers back.

So let’s get started!

The Christmas Calamity II Event tasks

Just like in all previous events, this one will be split into four parts. Every task will have its own reward, with a larger reward once each of the four parts are completed. This is where we will get our Restricted Section books, along with Brilliant Foundables, event XP and much more. Let’s take a closer look at those tasks.

Our take on the tasks

This part of the event will definitely be much more time-consuming than the first one. To complete all the tasks we will have to unlock 4 Portkeys and brew a total of 12 potions. No amount of preparing will let us skip ahead so we will have to either take more time to finish it or use some Gold Coins to speed the brewing up.

Much like in Part I with Gnome Confoundables, we will find an increase of Eblubio-related Foundables on the map. Here’s a handy graphic of all the encounters where we need to cast Eblubio:

Part 1/4

Unless there is another issue with Baubles drop rate like it happened in Part I (Greenhouses rarely dropping a Yule Ball Invitation on the first day) we should be able to complete this part fairly easily.

If you think you might have a hard time receiving (and sending) enough Gifts check out our Friend Code Map. Just pick a few codes and add them in your game. If you want to make sure you’re adding active players come on over to our discord. We have an entire section dedicated to gifts where you can tell other players what you’d like them to send you.

Part 2/4

Part Two will be the first place where we’ll have to slow down. We need to unlock 4 Portkeys in order to get to Part 3. If you saved some 1km Portkeys from last Saturday’s Community Day you’re in luck, you will be able to get through this much faster without needing to use Silver Keys. If not, then you can start working on those Brilliant Portkeys and get some Brilliant Hufflepuff Silver Gargoyle Fragments while you’re at it.

Part 3/4

Just like all tasks that include Potions, this one might take a bit of time. Unless you prepare, of course. We need to brew 5 Potions here. There are a few different ways to go about it.

  • Queue 4 potions in the cauldron, then when you get to part 3/4 collect them and brew one more. You can let it brew at a normal speed (2 hours minimum) or speed it up using Gold Coins.
  • Rent a Cauldron, queue 4 potions in your normal cauldron and as many as you can afford in the rented cauldron. Make sure at least 5 of those will be completed before the event and collect five of them when you get to part 3/4.
  • Speed up the brewing process of as many potions as you need using Gold Coins.
  • Be patient and brew potions as you go. You will save Gold Coins and, depending on how fast you walk and how many Silver Keys you use, you might even finish brewing before you unlock all 4 Portkeys.

There’s another task that might stump us in this section: Use 2 Dark Detectors. Unlike previous events, we won’t receive Dark Detectors as rewards before a task that requires us to use them. So with any luck you will have a couple of them still in your vault. If not you can buy them in Diagon Alley (you can purchase 3 Dark Detectors for 325 Gold Coins) or hope to receive them as a reward when returning Foundables.

Part 4/4

Here we run into another potions-related task. This time we will need to brew 7 Potions. Considering we used collected 5 in the previous task and that we can only queue up to 4 in each cauldron at a time, we will still need to brew at least 4 more potions from scratch (assuming we had 3 left over from the Rented Cauldron).

So much like part 3/4 the time consumed here will depend on your preparation, your patience, and your willingness to spend Gold Coins (if you have enough) to speed up the process.

Time is still on our side

So all in all, this event should could take a day or two, depending on your time-zone (the later the event starts in your area, the less time you’ll have to play on day one) and how many potions you managed to brew ahead of time. But, of course, this is far from a competition, and we have a whole week to complete the tasks, so there’s no need to rush!

Tasks Rewards Summary

As for the reward, if we complete every task we will get:

  • 2550 XP
  • 200 Brilliant Family XP
  • 1 Violin Sticker
  • 1 Ice Sculpture Castle Sticker
  • 3 Brilliant Foundables
  • 2 Ministry ID Frames
  • 3 Unicorn Hair Ingredients
  • 50 gold coins
  • 15 Restricted Section Books
  • 2 Red Spell Books
A few important details

Just like in previous two-part events, map Foundables from Part I will appear during Part II, which is great if you didn’t manage to return all the Fragments. Also, if you have any leftover Runestones from part I they will start yielding the new Foundable as soon as the event begins. Once the event is over, they will yield Fragments from Part I or II at random.

The opposite applies to Portkeys. Any Portkey you still have from Part I will yield Part I fragments regardless of when you open it. So, unlike the Runestones, you shouldn’t save those Portmanteaus for Part II. They will only take up space and make it harder to complete the Part II Portkey Foundable.

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • Brew your Potions in advance. You might need to rent a Cauldron. This time you’ll need a total of 12 Potions to complete the Event.
  • Make sure you have enough ingredients for such a large brewing fest. You don’t want to run out before you brew all 12 Potions.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • Find an area with Inns or Greenhouses. They will give you energy, Gifts and Event Baubles.
  • Master your spells. That will make returning those Brilliant Foundables much easier and will save you time and energy.
  • Try to level up the game, but don’t get overexcited and go all out with your profession. You might want to save some scrolls for when you get those shiny Restricted Section Books and plan where to spend them when you’re done with the event.
  • Make room in your vaults for ingredients and potions.
  • We’re all sure to meet some new Potterheads during the week. What better way to make new friends and possibly new teammates for your next Fortress incursion? Don’t be shy and reach out!
  • And the most important one: Have fun! (And try to convert as many Muggles as possible!)
That’s what we have for today, so go play!

Make sure you’re ready to make the most of the event, add your Friend Code to our map if you haven’t yet. You can also have a look around the map and find players in your area!

We also have a Local Community Map where you can add your Wizards Unite Communities for other players to find you!

If you have any more tips for new players make sure to leave them in the comment section! We’d love to make the most the event.

Just to point out.
Pick up gifts on the first part is not "picking up gifts from friends", BUT taking them from inns, fortresses and greenhouses.
Took me some time to figure that out :ROFLMAO:
