It’s almost time for the second part of the Fighting Forces Wizards Unite Event to begin! Keep in mind two-parters work slightly differently than other events, we’ll go into those details in the post. But to start here’s a rundown of the tasks, the rewards and the Foundables we will come across during the Fighting Forces II Brilliant Event.

The Fighting Forces II Brilliant Event

Lasting an entire week (from October 22nd to October 28th), this will be the second part of the Fighting Forces Brilliant Event. This event will let us complete the second page of the event Registry, get some of the Fragments from Part I and also get your hands on some more of those precious restricted books that are holding our professional careers back.

So let’s get started!

The Fighting Forces Event tasks

Just like in all previous events, this one will be split into four parts. Every task will have its own reward, with a larger reward once each of the four parts are completed. This is where we will get our Restricted Section books, along with Brilliant Foundables, event XP and much more. Let’s take a closer look at those tasks.

Our take on the tasks

There are a few more changes here compared to the first part of the event. This part will certainly be more time-consuming. While Part I could be completed within a few hours this one will definitely take longer, since there is a lot of Potion brewing involved and a lot more Portkeys to be opened.

Part 1/4

This one can be done quickly if we are prepared. Visit 2 inns and return 3 Oddities Family Foundables. Those two should be easy enough. It’s the potions that can be a challenge. But here’s what we can do. For the Potions to count you only need to collect them, not brew them, so there are two easy options:

  • You can fill up your cauldron’s queue (make sure all four will be done brewing before the event starts) and rent a cauldron for the remaining two. The issue here is that you can only queue up one potion if you rent the cauldron for three hours, then you have to add the second potion after you collect the first. So to have to rent for 8 hours, which will cost you 35 Gold Coins.
  • Fill up your queue and wait until the event starts. Then collect all four potions and start brewing two more. If you choose the faster potions, like Exstimulo, you can speed them up for 11 Gold Coins. That’s 22 Gold Coins for two potions. Which is cheaper than the first option.
Part 2/4

For Part Two you will need to do a little math. Using Exstimulo (normal only) five times can be done in a Fortress or you can use it on Foundables. Recovering 2 Brilliant Sirius Black shouldn’t be an issue. But then you have to unlock 2 Portkeys. Here is a tip: Have the Portkeys almost ready to open by the time the event starts. That way it won’t take a full 2km or more (twice as much if you only use the gold key) to get through this part. Otherwise it will take as long as it normally takes you to walk that distance, which can be a while, at least for me.

Part 3/4

This should be an easy one, too. Returning 6 Oddities shouldn’t be hard, especially when you have to use Tonic for Trace Detection as well. Defeating 9 foes in a Fortress is also an easy one considering we have to venture into Fortresses anyway to get the Brilliant Order of the Phoenix Photograph Foundable. Two or three mid-level encounters should get you there. The Tonic for Trace Detection is what will set the time here, though it shouldn’t slow you down. Assuming you have enough in your vault, you have to play for 30 minutes with the first Tonic before drinking the second, so just make sure you drink it as soon as you get to part three and you shouldn’t have to wait long after completing the tasks to take the second.

Part 4/4

This one will probably be the more time-consuming one. The easy part: Perform 15 Great Spell Casts -or higher- (they don’t need to be successful) and use 5 Potent Exstimulo Potions. Two of the Potions will come as rewards from part 2/4 so if you have 3 more in your vault you should be set. Just head back to a Fortress and work on those Brilliant Fragments while you’re at it.

But then there’s the 4 Portkeys. Doing the math here might be a little harder, though it doesn’t seem like the previous tasks will require a lot of walking. If you’re willing (or able) to use some silver keys you could walk all four Portkeys at once, starting as soon as you open the previous two from part 2/4. If not, prepare for some walking. You will have a whole week, of course, but remember this time we’ll get special missions after we complete all the tasks, and the rewards are quite good. So you’ll want to finish part 4/4 fast if you can.

Time is still on our side

So all in all, this event will take longer to complete (especially all the walking to open 6 Portkeys if you don’t have Silver Keys). Depending on where you live, you will have more or less time to play on day one. In my case the event starts at 8PM, which means I can only play a few hours if I want to get enough sleep before work. In other areas the event will start around noon, or early in the morning, which leaves them more time to play on day one. But, of course, this is far from a competition, and we have a whole week to complete the tasks, so there’s no need to rush!

Tasks Rewards Summary

As for the reward, if we complete every task we will get:

  • 2400 XP
  • 90 Brilliant Family XP
  • 25 Legends of Hogwarts Family XP
  • 3 Brilliant Foundables
  • 1 Death sticker
  • 1 Dementor sticker
  • 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • 1 Death Eater Mask Lens
  • 8 Potions ingredients
  • 1 Silver Key
  • 50 gold coins
  • 15 Restricted Section Books
  • 4 Red Spell Books
A few important details

Just like in previous two-part events, map Foundables from Part I will appear during Part II, which is great if you didn’t manage to return all the Fragments. Also, if you have any leftover Runestones from part I they will start yielding the new Foundable as soon as the event begins. Once the event is over, they will yield Fragments from Part I or II at random.

The opposite applies to Portkeys. Any Portkey you still have from Part I will yield Part I fragments regardless of when you open it. So unlike the Runestones, you shouldn’t save those Portmanteaus for Part II. They will only take up space and make it harder to complete the Part II Portkey Foundable.

Focus on those tasks!

All this means you should put as much effort as you can in completing the tasks, since there are three Foundables that will only appear by completing parts 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 and you will not get another chance to complete the Registry without them. Not to mention those Restricted Books, 5 of which you will only receive after completing every event task. Brilliant Portkeys and Runestones will continue to yield Brilliant Foundables for a time after the end of the event.

Another thing to keep in mind, which we mentioned before. Once you complete the event tasks you will have access to a special set of missions. So be sure to complete the event fast so you can work on those tasks (and get those rewards) as well.

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • Brew your Potions in advance. This time you’ll need at least:
    • 5 normal Exstimulo Potions
    • 5 Potent Exstimulo Potions
    • 2 Tonics for Trace Detection
  • Have some Portkeys ready to go for part 2/4. These don’t need to be Brilliant Portkeys.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • Find an area with enough Inns and Greenhouses to move between. Remember the 5 minute waiting period. That will give you km for your Portkeys and spell energy for your Traces.
  • Master your spells. And increase your Profession’s power if you can. That’s what matters when fighting Oddities.
  • Try to level up the game, but don’t go all out with your profession. It’s your game level (and your ability to trace spells) that determines whether or not you defeat a Confoundable. You might want to save some scrolls for when you get those shiny Restricted Section Books and plan where to spend them when you’re done with the event.
  • Make room in your vaults for ingredients and potions.
  • We’re all sure to meet some new Potterheads during the week. What better way to make new friends and possibly new teammates for your next Fortress incursion? Don’t be shy and reach out!
  • And the most important one: Have fun! (And try to convert as many Muggles as possible!)
That’s what we have for today, so go play!

Make sure you’re ready to make the most of the event, add your Friend Code to our map if you haven’t yet. You can also have a look around the map and find players in your area!
