Here at Accio Wizards Unite we are, above all, geeky fans who love Harry Potter. And we’ve always enjoyed the community that surrounded this magical world from day one. Now, many years later, we decided to take a more active part in the community centred on Wizards Unite.

And as we set off, we met these wonderful creatures Newt definitely should have included in Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them. The WuTubers.

This feature section is dedicated to them. They are all different and unique, and they make amazing content everyone interested in Wizards Unite (and Harry Potter in general) should watch.

The Brilliant Brita!

If you play Wizards Unite and have been around the online community you have probably already seen Brita’s content, both her blog posts and her Youtube videos. She’s a gifted witch!

But we wanted to get to know her a little better, and to give you guys the chance to do the same. So we grabbed our best Quick-Quotes Quill and got to work.

Getting to know Brita

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Brita (bree-tuh), and I’m a 30-something in Forsyth County, Georgia. Basically drive northeast out of Atlanta, and once you hit the cow fields, look for the pink house. That’s where my husband and I live.

The name you choose for your YouTube channel and your social media often defines how people see you. So how did you choose Witches Unite?

Witches Unite is a wordplay on Wizards Unite!

What’s your Hogwarts House? And what do you think it says about you?

I’m a total Ravenclaw. I love to read, and my Internet pet peeve is people who don’t cite their sources. I’m a lifelong learner. If I had unlimited money and free time, I would spend the rest of my life in higher education, taking as many classes as possible.

The Harry Potter Community

How old were you when you discovered Harry Potter?

I was 12, visiting my mom’s family for Christmas. My aunt and uncle gave our family the first three Harry Potter books, which were the only ones out at that time. I had already finished all of the books I’d brought with me, so on Christmas Eve, I started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Curled up on the couch at my grandma’s house, with the fire quietly crackling as it died down and the Christmas tree lit in the corner, I lost myself in J.K. Rowling’s magical world. I’ve been a diehard Potterhead ever since.

What do you like most about the Potterverse?

If I had to choose just one thing to praise about the Potterverse, I would celebrate the diversity of women. Yes, they are overwhelmingly white and straight. Setting that aside, consider Hermione, Ginny, and Luna–all strong witches, all different. Same goes for Mrs. Weasley, Professor McGonagall, Tonks, and even the villains Bellatrix Lestrange and Dolores Umbridge.

What do you think about the Harry Potter fan community? Do you think it’s different from other Fandoms?

I joined Harry Potter fandom when I was 16. A friend introduced me to fanfiction, and that introduced me to the Internet fandom at large. That was 15 years ago! The community is mostly supportive and welcoming. I only dabble in other fandoms (Star Trek, Star Wars, Disney). Harry Potter is my One True Fandom!
The Life of a WuTuber

Being a WuTuber is a lot of work. What made you decide to start your channel? And why Wizards Unite?

I’m already a blogger and social media influencer under Belle Brita, which I started in 2014. I’ve wanted to learn about video for awhile, so when Niantic announced Wizards Unite, I saw my opportunity. As an avid Pokémon GO player and a long-time Harry Potter fan, I’m thrilled to play Wizards Unite. Sharing nerdy content with other Harry Potter fans is just the icing on the cake! Plus it’s just nice to discover a new creative outlet.

What would you like people to know about your channel? What makes it special?
My pink and sparkly personality will dazzle you! I am an enthusiastic person who tends to jump up and down while clapping whenever I get excited… Yes, this is in some of my videos.
If you like surprises, you will love my channel since I don’t post on a consistent schedule. Any day or time is perfect to drop a new video! I also love to travel and collab with other WUtubers, so keep your eyes open (and wands ready) for fun collabs.
Oh, and sometimes my husband makes a guest appearance. He’s cute. 10/10 would marry him again. Dan also helps me edit my videos.
In addition to videos on Wizards Unite, I post occasional videos about other Harry Potter topics. Sometimes my other nerdy interests make cameos–Jedis Unite!
Finally, I always differentiate between fact and speculation… And I always cite my sources for factual Wizards Unite news!
What are you looking forward to the most about Wizards Unite?

I’m excited for the storyline! I want to learn more about the Calamity and the London Five.
What are your plans for the channel now that the game is out?

I am a rural player, and my channel reflects that reality. While I do plan on playing Wizards Unite when I travel, my daily play will be in a rural area. My channel will offer honest advice to other rural players, along with encouragement NOT to spoof! Expect weekly uploads and occasional livestreams.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am also the editor-in-chief of Wizards Unite Hub (and I might end up writing for a few other Wizards Unite fan sites). My magical time is divided, so follow me on Twitter for the most up-to-date Wizards Unite news! I post there as soon as I learn something new and exciting, but it takes a bit longer to create a video.

Some fantastic Wizards Unite Videos

This unboxing video is an example of my other Harry Potter content. Expect a gift guide in the fall!

This is one of my earliest videos! While some of my tips for prepping for Wizards Unite are incorrect, most of the video is still relevant today.

Finally, this is my channel’s teaser trailer! I have plans to create a full channel trailer, hopefully this summer.

How to find and follow Brita| Witches Unite

Here are a few places where you can find Lynette and her wonderful content. If you’re not following her yet, here is your chance!

Brita and the Online Community

We’ve been asking around, and were not surprised in the least to find people really like Brita. So we asked them to tell us what they thought of them. Here are some of the replies! (we will update with new responses as they come!)

  • @WizardWayKris: Brita is a swirling vortex of pink sparkles & flamingo fabulousness. This woman has a pink wall in her house for filming and selfies, and delights in all things Parisian. She’s SO hard-working and gracious, and she was one of the first #WUtubers I befriended and met! You go girl!
  • @Snitcheswitch: Britta is so kind, dedicated, and hard-working, she makes blogging, filming, and organizing details look EASY! She’s an inspirational #spoony
So now what?

Now, of course, you go and follow Brita a.k.a. Belle Brita a.k.a. Witches Unite (with all these aliases, do you think she’s hiding from the Aurors…? One’s gotta wonder). Check out her amazing videos full of pink and sparkles and pure joy and make sure to subscribe and go back for more!
