It’s that time again, the Triwizarding Secrets II Brilliant Event is about to begin. Let’s take a quick look at what to expect this time around!

Triwizarding Secrets II Brilliant Event

Lasting an entire week  as usual (from January 26th to February 2nd), this will be the second part of the Wizarding Secrets Brilliant Event (with the first part running earlier this month). This event will let us complete the second page of the event Registry (and perhaps place a Map Foundable from part I as well) and also get some more of those precious restricted books that are holding our professional careers back.

Triwizarding Secrets II Event tasks

Just like in all previous events, this one will be split into four parts. Every task will have its own reward, with a larger reward once each of the four parts is completed. This is where we will get our Restricted Section and DADA books along with Brilliant Foundables, event XP and much more. Let’s take a closer look at those tasks.

Our take on the tasks

Let’s look a little deeper into the tasks and figure out which ones we’ll need to prepare for, which ones might hold us back and more.

The Potions

There is very little Potions work we can do ahead of time for this event, unfortunately. We need to use two Tonic for Trace Detection in part one, but by now I’m willing to bet we all have enough of those stocked up. If not, we do get enough ingredients in the Complimentary Gift to brew it once.

In part two, however, things get a little more complicated. We need to use Master Notes 6 times. And we can only use Master Notes while the Potion is brewing. Which means, very little pre-brewing, if any.

The fastest route, as usual, is renting a Cauldron to double our brewing. If we time things right, we might be able to have two Potions almost ready by the time we hit part 2/4, at which point we can use Master notes to finish them up and start working on the remaining four. Since we can’t know how long it will take us to complete part 1/4 (returning 12 Brilliant Marauder’s Map might take a while) I’d recommend leaving Tonic for Trace Detection started, since the original Brewing time is 7 hours and at any time after 3.5hs of brewing the Master Notes will simply finish the Potion, giving us a wide margin (3.5hs) in case part 1/4 goes too slow.

Of course, you can always throw some more gold into the Cauldron and pay to complete the Potions faster, if you have the Galleons to spare.

The Foundables

To complete part 4/4 we’ll need to earn 7,000 XP from Traces. Using Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will help speed this along quite a bit(especially if you have boosted the Potion’s effects through your SOS Task Force Appraisal). Still, there’s no indication of any Foundable Family or High-Threat encounters being boosted, so this part might well take us a long while. Especially to those of us in more rural areas that only get Foundables through Tonic for Trace Detection.

The Fortresses

This event isn’t really Fortress-heavy. During part 2/3 we will need to earn 5,000 XP from Challenges and defeat 15 foes. Defeating the foes shouldn’t be an issue at all; even if you don’t want to go to higher chambers, sticking to low-level chambers and doing them solo will get you two or three foes each time with barely any cost in energy or Potions. The part that could be a little more difficult is earning 5,000 XP from Challenges. For this we definitely recommend going to higher Chambers if you can. Of course, be careful not to overreach, since you need to win the challenge to get XP and the higher the Chamber, the higher the cost in Potions and Spell Energy.

It’s also a good idea to chug some Brain Elixir before getting on the Knight Bus so that you can earn XP at least twice as fast.

And do keep in mind some quick tips for group battling:

  • Go to those enemies you’re proficient against first
    • Professors: Pixies and Wrewolves
    • Magizoologists: Erklings and Acromantulas
    • Aurors: Dark Wizards and Death Eaters
  • Use your profession’s spells and curses to help teammates and weaken all enemies on the board.
  • Be brave; fight. We all notice when someone just sits back and waits for the other players to do all the work. Bad karma is a real thing.

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • You will be using quite a few Tonic for Trace Detection if we’re playing from home. Make sure you have enough potions and ingredients.
  • Remember Master Notes cut down brewing time for Tonic for Trace Detection by half.
  • Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will come in handy when you need to earn 7,000 XP from Traces and 5,000 XP from Challenges (parts 3/4 and 4/4). Make sure you have enough since some of the ingredients are hard to come by and brewing takes 12 hours.
  • We’ll need a lot of XP from Traces, so don’t be shy about using those Dark Detectors if you have an Inn within reach. And remember you can use up to three in the same Inn.
  • Be careful going to the Registry Page. You will need to collect 6 Runes in part 2/4 so don’t open the registry page before then; that way, it will all count towards this goal when you do. You will also need to place 5 images in the Registry Page in part 4/4 (though it doesn’t seem to specify it has to be from week 2) so hold out on placing any images until you reach this point.
  • Remember you need to open at least 5 Brilliant Portkeys to complete the Registry Foundable. If you’re having trouble walking enough to get them open you can always use some silver keys. Or find a corner at home with low internet signal and leave the game open there. With a little luck your avatar will walk some of those KM for you just trying to figure out where it is.
  • Check out our Friend Code map and grab some codes. Friend Gifts always come in handy, and you get better rewards when you complete a Challenge with someone from your Friends list.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • And the most important one: Stay safe!!

That’s what we have for today, so go play!

Make sure you’re ready to make the most of the event, add your Friend Code to our map if you haven’t yet. You can also have a look around the map and find players in your area!

We also have a Local Community Map where you can add your Wizards Unite Communities for other players to find you!

If you have any more tips for new players make sure to leave them in the comment section! We’d love to make the most the event.
