Triwizarding Secrets I Event tasks

Just like in all previous events, this one will be split into four parts. Every task will have its own reward, with a larger reward once each of the four parts is completed. This is where we will get our Restricted Section and DADA books along with Brilliant Foundables, event XP and much more. Let’s take a closer look at those tasks.

Our take on the tasks

Let’s look a little deeper into the tasks and figure out which ones we’ll need to prepare for, which ones might hold us back and more.

The Potions

There is a little Potions prep for this event, and depending on how fast you complete the tasks it might get a little tricky, though a little patience will get you through it.

The first thing we need is two Tonic for Trace Detection for part 1/4. You’ll want to make sure you have enough ingredients to brew it beforehand, or you might end up stuck in part 1, having to wait the many hours it takes to brew them from scratch (even using  Master Notes).

After that, we will need seven more Potions to complete part 3/4.

Of course, you can only queue 4 Potions at a time and can’t start brewing a new Potion until you have collected all the completed Potions available. So while there’s no easy way to do this, let’s have a look at the fastest options:

  • Use one Cauldron. Brew four Potions and, once the event starts, collect the two Tonic for Trace Detection only. When you get to part 3/4 collect the other two and start brewing the remaining five needed. Since you need to return 15 Brilliant Goblet f Fire in this part, it will probably take some time to be ready to move on to 4/4. Once you have everything ready, you can wait however long is left of your brewing or pay to speed it up. The cost will depend on the time left but will probably be cheaper than the rental Cauldron.
  • Use two Cauldrons. Rent a Cauldron for 8hs (35 gold) or 1 day (90 gold). Brew the two Tonics for part 1/4 and two other Potions in one, and four more in the other Cauldron. That leaves you a total of 6 completed Potions by the time you reach part 3/4. Then brew and collect the last Potion. That should set you back less than an hour if you choose a fast Potion. Less if you pay to finish brewing.

The Foundables

To complete part 2/4 we’ll need to earn 7,000 XP from Traces*. During this part of the event we will also need to use Baruffio’s Brain Elixir twice, which will help us along the way (especially if you have boosted the Potion’s effects through your SOS Task Force Appraisal). Still, there’s no indication of any Foundable Family or High-Threat encounters being boosted, so this part might well take us a long while. Especially to those of us in more rural areas that only get Foundables through Tonic for Trace Detection.

*We’re not even getting into the 12,500 XP needed to complete the Bonus Assignment…

The Fortresses

This event will be quite Fortress-heavy. Thankfully, the Knight Bus is here to help us.

During this Brilliant Event all the task in part 4/4 relate to Wizarding Challenges. Completing 5 Challenges with 3 or more teammates shouldn’t be an issue at all, since it doesn’t mention a specific Chamber and it’s generally not too hard to find people playing, especially if you stick to lower chambers.  The part that could be a little more difficult is earning 5,000 XP from Challenges. For this we definitely recommend going to higher Chambers if you can. Of course, be careful not to overreach, since you need to win the challenge to get XP and the higher the Chamber, the higher the cost in Potions and Spell Energy.

It’s also a good idea to chug some Brain Elixir before getting on the Knight Bus so that you can earn XP at least twice as fast.

And do keep in mind some quick tips for group battling:

  • Go to those enemies you’re proficient against first
    • Professors: Pixies and Wrewolves
    • Magizoologists: Erklings and Acromantulas
    • Aurors: Dark Wizards and Death Eaters
  • Use your profession’s spells and curses to help teammates and weaken all enemies on the board.
  • Be brave; fight. We all notice when someone just sits back and waits for the other players to do all the work. Bad karma is a real thing.

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • You will be using quite a few Tonic for Trace Detection if we’re playing from home. Make sure you have enough potions and ingredients.
  • Remember Master Notes cut down brewing time for Tonic for Trace Detection by half.
  • Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will come in handy when you need to earn 5,000 XP from Challenges (part 4/4) but you’ll also need to use it twice in part 2/4. Make sure you have enough left since some of the ingredients are hard to come by and brewing takes 12 hours.
  • We’ll need a lot of XP from Traces, so don’t be shy about using those Dark Detectors if you have an Inn within reach. And remember you can use up to three in the same Inn.
  • If you’re planning on completing the Bonus Assignment, make sure you don’t place any of the Brilliant Foundables on the Registry; you’ll need to place five to complete the Bonus Task.
  • Remember you need to open at least 5 Brilliant Portkeys to complete the Registry Foundable. If you’re having trouble walking enough to get them open you can always use some silver keys. Or find a corner at home with low internet signal and leave the game open there. With a little luck your avatar will walk some of those KM for you just trying to figure out where it is.
  • Check out our Friend Code map and grab some codes. Friend Gifts always come in handy, and you get better rewards when you complete a Challenge with someone from your Friends list.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • And the most important one: Stay safe!!

That’s what we have for today, so go play!

Make sure you’re ready to make the most of the event, add your Friend Code to our map if you haven’t yet. You can also have a look around the map and find players in your area!

We also have a Local Community Map where you can add your Wizards Unite Communities for other players to find you!

If you have any more tips for new players make sure to leave them in the comment section! We’d love to make the most the event.
