It’s almost time for the new Wizards Unite Event to begin! This will, once more, be a two-part event, although this time we know what to expect and how the two parts will work together. Here’s a rundown of the tasks, the rewards and the Foundables we will come across during the Back to Hogwarts I Brilliant Event.

Lasting an entire week (from August to August 13th to August 20th), this will be the first part of the Back to Hogwarts Brilliant Event (with the second part running from August 27th to September 3rd). This event will let us complete the first page of the event Registry and also get some more of those precious restricted books that are holding our professional careers back.

Our take on the tasks

There are a few more changes here compared to the previous event. Some of the tasks are slightly easier. This time, for example, we won’t have to brew potions to complete a task, and we only need to unlock 3 Portkeys. They also changed the Wizarding Challenge task. In the previous event we had to defeat a specific foe (common dark wizard) while this time we simply have to complete three Wizarding Challenges. All in all, this one seems it will be less time-consuming. Especially if we consider their main change: Event Portkeys have gone from 7km to 3km, which means it will take a lot less walking to unlock one.

Once more, they do seem quite manageable, and while we have a full week to get through the event tasks, we will actually have over three weeks to get Portkey fragments and two weeks for Fortress and Map Foundables. Portkey Portmanteaus collected during Part one will yield its fragments until after the end of Part II. Fortresses will yield their fragments until the start of Part II (and perhaps after the end of Part II as well, if they stick with what they did during Potter’s Calamity event) and Brilliant Hogwarts Students will appear on the map during the two weeks of the event, Part I and Part II.

The fact that there will be four different types of brilliant Foundables on the map might present a bit of a challenge to get through each of the four parts of the event, as we need a specific House for each part, but up until now Brilliant Foundables have been quite abundant in the wild.

Tasks Rewards Summary

As for the reward, if we complete every task we will get:

  • 2050 XP (500XP less than Potter’s II)
  • 140 Brilliant Family XP (vs 160 in Potter’s Part I and 125 in Part II)
  • 2 Brilliant Foundables
  • 1 Hogwarts Express Sign sticker
  • 1 Hogwarts Express frame
  • 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions
  • 1 Luggage Trolley sticker
  • 1 Hogwarts Conductor Uniform lens
  • 50 gold coins (same as Part I)
  • 15 Restricted Section Books (same as Part I)

A few important details

Restricted section books are awarded later on this time. You can only get the last 9 books when you complete all four parts of the event, so make sure you do so!

This is the first of two parts. This means that the Event Registry Rank (and Runestones) will be much harder to get in part two. You might want to save however many you have left after completing the Trolley Witch Foundable to make things easier in part II.

The opposite applies to Portkeys. Any Portkey you get during Part I will yield Luggage Trolley fragments regardless of when you open it. So unlike the Runestones, you shouldn’t save those Portmanteaus for Part II. They will only take up space and make it harder to complete the Part II Portkey Foundable.

If you don’t manage to complete the Brilliant Student Foundables during the first week you needn’t fret. Those will appear on the map during Part II as well.

All this means you should put as much effort as you can in completing the tasks, since there are two Foundables that will only appear by completing parts 2/4 and 4/4 and you will not get another chance to complete the Registry without them. Not to mention those Restricted Books, 9 of which you will only receive after completing every event task.

Where to get the Potter’s Calamity II Event Foundables

back to hogwarts i foundables

Let’s have a look at where we can find each of the Brilliant Event Foundables:

  • Slytherin Student – On the map
  • Hufflepuff Student – On the map
  • Ravenclaw Student – On the map
  • Gryffindor Student – On the map
  • Hogwarts Express Conductor – Complete step 2/4 of the Event tasks
  • Hogwarts Express – Complete step 4/4 of the Event task
  • Trolley Witch – Use a Brilliant Runestone (important!) in Wizarding Challenges (any level chamber will work)
  • Luggage Trolley– In 3km Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • Brew your Potions in advance. You’ll probably need:
    • Exstimulo Potion, which improves your spellcast in both combat and traces.
    • Dawdle Draught (available from Lv 17) which reduces the likelihood of the Trace fleeing.
    • Baruffio’s Brain Elixir, which grants you double Wizarding XP from Traces, Wizarding Challenges and Portkeys for 30 minutes.
  • Have some Portkeys ready to go. These don’t need to be Brilliant Portkeys.
  • For Event Foundables, it’s best to stay away from areas marked with a Family Banner. They are far more likely to appear in unmarked areas.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • Find an area with enough Inns and Greenhouses to move between. Remember the 5 minute waiting period. That will give you km for your Portkeys and spell energy for your Traces.
  • Master your spells. And most importantly, remember the game values speed over accuracy.
  • Try to level up the game, but don’t go all out with your profession. It’s your game level (and your ability to trace spells) that determines whether or not you defeat a Confoundable. You might want to save some scrolls for when you get those shiny Restricted Section Books and plan where to spend them when you’re done with the event.
  • Make room in your vaults for ingredients and potions.
  • Although the game is still quite new, we’re all sure to meet some new Potterheads during the week. What better way to make new friends and possibly new teammates for your next Fortress incursion? Don’t be shy and reach out!
  • And the most important one: Have fun! (And try to convert as many Muggles as possible!)

That’s what we have for today, so go play!
