Wizards Unite Event Walkthrough: Potter’s Calamity II ⚡

Potter's calamity event II

It’s almost time for the third Wizards Unite Event to begin! Just in time for Harry’s 39th Birthday all Wizards Unite Task Force members will be out on the Muggle streets trying to recover traces related to him. Here’s a rundown of the tasks, the rewards and the Foundables we will come across during the Potter’s Calamity II Brilliant Event.

The Potter’s Calamity II Brilliant Event

Lasting an entire week (from July 30th to August 6th), this will be the second part of the Potter’s Calamity Brilliant Event (with the first part running from July 16th to 23rd). This event will let us complete the second page in the Potter’s Calamity Event Registry and also get some more of those precious restricted books that are holding our professional careers back.

So let’s get started.

The Potter’s Calamity II tasks

Just like in all previous events, this one will be split into four parts. Every task will have its own reward, with a larger reward once each of the four parts are completed. This is where we will get our Restricted Section books, along with Brilliant Foundables, event XP and much more. Let’s take a closer look at those tasks.

Our take on the tasks

On first look, the tasks seem a little harder to complete than the ones in Part I. Still, they do seem quite manageable, especially considering we have a full week to get through them. Most of them relate to normal tasks, with only one task relating to a specific Brilliant Foundable. Of course, this will all depend on just how rare they make this Foundable. We will also need to brew one more potion, get some specific foes in Fortresses, and use 8 Potions among other changes. But nothing too wild, thankfully.

As for the reward, if we complete every task we will get:

  • 2550 XP (same as Part I)
  • 125 Brilliant Family XP (160 in Part I)
  • 3 Brilliant Foundables
  • 1 avatar portrait frame
  • 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions (instead of 2 Strong ones)
  • 1 avatar glasses lens
  • 1 moving sticker
  • 50 gold coins (same as Part I)
  • 15 Restricted Section Books (same as Part I)

A few important details

Restricted section books are rewarded later on this time. You can only get the last 7 books when you complete all four parts of the event, so make sure you do so!

The Registry page is in the same Family as Part I of the Event. We believe this means we will keep our Brilliant Event Rank. On the plus side, you can use the same Runestones to get Foundable Fragments from the Fortresses.

On the down side, you will already be a high rank (Rank 20 in my case) so if the one Brilliant event Foundable that will appear on the map doesn’t yield a decent amount of Family XP we will have an extremely hard time getting new Brilliant Runestones and the Fortress Brilliant Foundable (the Hogwarts Heroes Daily Prophet).

We believe 7km Brilliant Portkeys will still work on the new event, so remember to wait until the event starts before opening them!

Where to get the Potter’s Calamity II Event Foundables

There was a bit of confusion regarding Brilliant Foundables in the last two event, so let’s go over where we can find each of them:

  • Golden Snitch – On the map
  • DMLE Badge – Complete step 2/4 of the Event tasks
  • London Five Photograph – Complete step 3/4 of the Event tasks
  • Framed Family Photo – Complete step 4/4 of the Event tasks
  • Hogwarts Heroes Daily Prophet – Use a Brilliant Runestone (important!) in Wizarding Challenges (any level chamber will work)
  • Harry’s Ministry ID Card – In 7km Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus

Brilliant Event Tips

Here are a few tips to keep in mind before and during the event.

  • Brew your Potions in advance. You’ll probably need:
    • Exstimulo Potion, which improves your spellcast in both combat and traces.
    • Dawdle Draught (available from Lv 17) which reduces the likelihood of the Trace fleeing.
    • Baruffio’s Brain Elixir, which grants you double Wizarding XP from Traces, Wizarding Challenges and Portkeys for 30 minutes.
  • Have some Portkeys ready to go. These don’t need to be Brilliant Portkeys.
  • Try different areas and at different times of the day. And for Event Foundables it’s best to stay away from areas marked with a Family Banner. They are far more likely to appear in unmarked areas.
  • If you can, try to start the event with full energy. It will make the first day go much better.
  • Find an area with enough Inns and Greenhouses to move between. Remember the 5 minute waiting period. That will give you km for your Portkeys and energy for your Traces.
  • Master your spells. And most importantly, remember the game values speed over accuracy.
  • Try to level up the game, but don’t go all out with your profession. It’s your game level (and your ability to cast spells) that determines whether or not you defeat a Confoundable. You might want to save some scrolls for when you get those shiny Restricted Section Books and plan where to spend them when you’re done with the event.
  • Make room in your vaults for ingredients and potions. You don’t want to have to throw potions away just because the game is asking you to brew some and you have no room left to put the finished ones away. Especially considering you need to brew 8 potions to finish part 4/4.
  • Although the game is still quite new, we’re all sure to meet some new Potterheads during the week. What better way to make new friends and possibly new teammates for your next Fortress incursion? Don’t be shy and reach out!
  • And the most important one: Have fun! (And try to convert as many Muggles as possible!)

That’s what we have for today, so go play!

Make sure you’re ready to make the most of the event, add your Friend Code to our map if you haven’t yet. You can also have a look around the map and find players in your area!

If you have any more tips for new players make sure to leave them in the comment section! We’d love to make the most the event.
